Work collaboratively with the college community to assist students in finding internships and other employment opportunities
Conduct career coaching sessions with students, follow up on student progress, & keep detailed notes
Provide career advisement to students, including but not limited to career goals, requirements of specific occupations, and labor market trends
Ensure accurate data entry and reporting of all activity into the career development database, including observation notes, career advancements/employments and job development activity, etc
Coach and advise students on career planning, job seeking skills and industry trends to effectively prepare them to gain employment
Present in classrooms and at events about career center offerings
Establish and maintain relationships with area employers
Administers intake and career assessments to support students career development
Participate in professional development activities to stay up to date on best practices within the field
Understand and apply knowledge of local and national labor market trends to assist job seekers to identify career opportunities
Participate in and support ongoing assessment, planning, and evaluation to improve student career development
Market events and programs by developing and distributing e-mail newsletters, industry guides, tip sheets, and related career planning materials
Coordinate the On-Campus Employment process from start to finish, student applications, hiring procedures, onboarding, and compliance with college employment policies.
Perform other duties as assigned, which contribute to the efficient and effective operation of a career readiness framework at RCC
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience
Knowledge of career assessments (Focus2, Strong Interest Inventory, MBTI, etc.)
Ability to relate to a diverse student population
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of the NACE career competencies
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of CRS 12twenty
Career Coaching Certificate or knowledge of career counseling theories and practices is highly desirable
Experience in career services, student development, or a related field
Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and employers
Proficiency in career services platforms and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with 12Twenty and Banner is a plus
