Teaching - Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to teaching (including lab, studio, or production management) may include but are not limited to: subject matter competence, course design, course presentation, and grading student work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The William States Lee College of Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a 12-month non-tenure-track faculty position at the Teaching Assistant/Associate Professor, Professor of Practice, or Lecturer/Senior Lecturer rank in one of or more of the following engineering fields: Electrical, Electromechanical, Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related fields. Candidates with prior teaching and/or industry experience in the following fields are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Automation and Manufacturing
- Robotics and Controls
- Embedded Systems and Mechatronics
The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses, have a motivation to improve the content and facilitation of these courses, mentor students in senior design projects, and develop relationships with industry partners and alumni in an effort to ensure the content is up to date and evolving with industry. Additional responsibilities include service to the department, university, and/or professional organizations.
Minimum Experience/Education
UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.
