The University of West Florida invites applications for the full-time (1 FTE) position of Accountant (Accountant 123580).
The Accountant within the Controller's Office provides reporting assistance for university fixed assets, lease management, taxation, and financial statements. Works with the Associate Controller of Reporting to enhance the collection of data for unrelated business income tax and Florida sales tax in order to file pertinent returns. Maintains fixed asset accounting records in accordance with university and state regulations, as well as GASB guidelines. Participates in university property surplus process. Assists in the preparation of the annual financial statements for construction/property and other funds.

FLSA: Non-Exempt
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an accounting related field.
- Experience with Sales Tax
- Experience with accounting systems
Salary: $46,200 - $47,500 annually
