The Opportunity
Columbia-Greene Community College, a small, rural community college committed to academic excellence and student success, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in English. The successful candidate will teach courses in English composition and literature, fostering critical thinking, effective communication, and literary analysis among students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to active student engagement and a passion for teaching in a community college setting. Position starts Fall 2025.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in English or Composition and Rhetoric from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in teaching composition and literature.
- Commitment to the mission of community colleges and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in English or Composition and Rhetoric from an accredited institution.
- Experience teaching composition at the community college level.
- Proven ability to incorporate active student engagement strategies in the classroom.
- Familiarity with current pedagogical trends in composition and rhetoric.
- Experience in developing and teaching online or hybrid courses.
Salary and Benefit Information
Contractual starting salary $51K and rank will be commensurate with education and work experience.
