Chief Executive Officer Archbold, OH During the 1960s, Erie Sauder had an idea to create a small museum at the Sauder Woodworking factory to help children learn about how woodworking was done before the advancement of automated machinery and to help them gain an appreciation for the hard work of the past. He was soon inspired to establish a museum where students, young and old, could learn about how the area of Northwest Ohio was settled; and to establish a place where things from history werent simply preserved, but where the stories of everyday people from the past could be shared. A place where history could truly "come alive." Today, Sauder Village is more than one mans vision. It is a thriving reality as Ohios largest living history destination, positively impacting over 330,000 guests annually from throughout the region and across the country. Sauder Village has 110 structures on its 239 acres, and the complex offers a complement of exploration and activities, food, lodging and retail services, making it an ideal destination for families, groups, small conferences and special events. Though the size, look and even the name has changed over the years, its purpose and vision have remained the same. The CEO will provide strategic vision and operational leadership for all aspects of Sauder Village, including the Historic Village, hospitality services, fundraising, financial management, facilities and grounds. As the organizations leader and public face, the CEO will set the tone for a collaborative culture that empowers staff, inspires guests and ensures long-term financial sustainability.
