About the Opportunity
The Khoury College of Computer Sciences seeks a Distinguished Research Fellow to establish and lead an independent research program. The Distinguished Research Fellow will be responsible for the design, execution, and oversight of a comprehensive research agenda. This includes securing external research funding and managing project budgets. Additional expectations include recruiting and mentoring PhD students, directing their own research program, serving on external program committees, and building collaborative relationships with industry, government, and nonprofit partners.

While candidates in all areas will be considered, priority will be given to the following areas:
  • Embodied AI
  • Software, Systems, and Security
  • AI and Life Sciences
  • Socially Responsive AI


Appointments will be for a term of one to two years.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent by position start date and demonstrate progressively advanced research experience. Candidates should show outstanding achievement in their area of computer science, evidenced by a strong record of influential publications, inventions, or equivalent scholarly contributions, with recognition within the discipline. Demonstrated project management experience is required, including supervisory, budgetary, and general administrative responsibilities.

Compensation Grade/Pay Type:

Expected Hiring Range:
$113,865.00 - $165,105.00

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
