A demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive services designed to improve equitable educational outcomes for college students is required for this position. The primary office location will be Sylvania Campus. In addition, there will be some occasions where business will be required at other PCC or off-site locations. This position includes travel to clinic locations in the Portland Metro area for site visits and meetings.

We in the Medical Imaging department at PCC are dedicated to innovation! We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job, and that candidate may come from a less traditional background or have a neat linear path. We encourage you to think broadly about your background and qualifications, and to apply.

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Radiologic Science or Radiography

  • Bachelor degree or higher in any field, or obtain within 18 months of hire

  • Current ARRT certification

  • Oregon license in radiography - or obtain within 3 months

  • 3 years or more radiography work experience. Recent teaching experience at the college level or industry training experience, or a combination of the two, may be substituted, year for year, for recent experience in the Imaging industry.

Success Criteria:

Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these criteria:

  • Experience in medical imaging education at an educational or healthcare setting in a variety of modalities or educational delivery methods which is responsive to student learning needs.

  • Demonstrated clinical experience including a wide scope and variety of radiologic procedures in clinical and/or hospital settings.

  • Experience as a team member using creative problem solving

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, deadlines, and technology.

  • Ability to coach students as they navigate the clinical setting and synthesize classroom learning as it applies to clinical application.

  • Demonstrated skills with culturally responsive education and a trauma-informed lens to a wide range of students to create and nurture a sense of community, well-being, and belonging.

Note: As part of your application to be considered for this Instructor position, we will ask you to respond to this important question:

In what ways do, or would, your lived experiences shape your culturally- responsive teaching? Please give examples.
